Honestly, I didn’t expect my night to end up as awesome as it did. I remember Third Eye Blind from high school and they were great, but at some point I lost track of them. Life got crazy and started moving at the speed of light so quite a few bands lost my attention, not by any fault of their own either. Tuesday reminded how much I liked these guys to begin with and reminded me how many other people never lost the love, it was obvious by the fact that this was a sell out crowd singing every word of their songs even the ones that I didn’t know.
I couldn’t shoot for the first four songs since it was mostly in darkness (their rules) so I spent some time walking through the crowd while the jammed out Graduate, Blinded and wounded. There were beautiful girls, and smiling faces everywhere as people even in the back were mouthing words, granted with a little less intensity but still very enthusiastic. People just seemed so happy and chilled out which I suppose is a nice change from my normal rock and metal concerts. As it got closer to show time, my show time, I made my way up front to the barrier and slid past the sea of fans with their arms raised. With a small wait they finished up Wounded so it was time to get in front and get you all some pictures!
I’ve got to say it again, I was pretty impressed with the musicianship of these guys all around and each one of them had a bit of a stand out roll, but I was really impressed by the drum solo. Just by looking at that kit you wouldn’t expect anything too crazy from it but with the expression pad he had next to it he was able to milk out an all out drum and bass show that only added to the frenzy in the crowd.
This time around we got all of the classics we were looking for with a taste of Dopamine, from their new album of the same name. This one is right on target and I think fans will eat it up. Make sure you get out and pick up Dopamine from any of your LOCAL (or anywhere else I suppose) record stores!

I also got the opportunity to check out a little band called Dashboard Confessional, and these guys rocked it. 3EB made a great choice if they had any hand in selecting these guys. Totally cool onstage and when they got done playing, they were totally cool off stage, hope you enjoy the shots I got of these guys as well!
