Though it is unclear as to his permanence, Andy Horn (currently of BattleMaster) has been announced as the vocalist for Skeletonwitch’s upcoming European Tour. This comes in the wake of the departure of Chance Garnette last year to deal with personal issues. As stated then by the band:
Lately there have been a lot of rumors, speculation, and assumptions, regarding Skeletonwitch. We want to set the record straight.
Unfortunately, Chance is unable to finish out the tour as he has some serious personal matters to attend to. We ask you to respect his and our privacy regarding these matters.
This obviously left us with a very difficult decision to make and we’ve decided to finish out the tour as a 4 piece.
This is how Jeremy and I saw them when they supported Amon Amarth last year, and it was still amazing without vocals. However, Chance has been removed from the ‘About’ section of their Facebook page, and as of an hour ago the band issued this statement:
Hails to Andy Horn! This metal maniac will be handling vocal duties on our upcoming Euro tour. We go way back with this guy. He got nuts with Cannabis Corpse and gets nuts with Battlemaster. Come see him get nuts with us!
As a long-time friend of the band and a good vocalist in his own right, he seems poised to make quite a debut. Fans are notably distressed, but ultimately positive in consideration of the new vocalist, which is a nice change of pace. Whatever these personal issues might be, I do hope somehow that the absence of Chance is only temporary. Regardless, we at ZTPmag wish him well in all of his future endeavors.
