Scorpions Rocked us like… Bad ass rockers! What did you think I was going to say?

by Jeremy Moore on September 25, 2015

Yeah yeah, the Scorpions came in and rocked us like a hurricane, riding high on the winds of change and left this place a real zoo.

I had never seen the scorpions or Queensryche for that matter so this was a huge night for me.  When I think back to my childhood and remember tiny bits of the world around me, Scorpions are almost always at the top of that mental playlist.  Winds of change, is probably one of the songs that changed my life and the way I saw the world.  So when they came out to play winds of change with the FUCKING ACOUSTIC FLYING-V…… that’s right, and acoustic flying-v, I was amped up.  I left the spot I was at on the side and moved over to the center for a better look and yes, even a wobbly video that i’ll keep and treasure till it corrupts on one of my many hard drives.

Really they played everything I was looking to hear including some new stuff from Return to Forever which coincides with their 50th anniversary.

On October 23, 2014 Scorpions’ leader Klaus Meine spoke to the band’s French fan-club Crazyscorps, and announced that the new record would be published in February or March 2015, to coincide with the band’s 50th anniversary. Contrary to what the band said in 2013, the new record will present not only newly recorded versions of never-published songs, but also new material, written between 2011 and 2014. The album is being recorded in Sweden, with producers Martin Hansen and Mikael Nord Andersson. Drummer James Kottak, who left the band in May 2014 for rehab, would return to play drums on the new record.[42] The new album Return to Foreverwas released on February 20, 2015. On August 29, 2015, the Scorpions announced 50th anniversary deluxe editions of their albums Taken By Force, Tokyo Tapes, Lovedrive, Blackout, Love At First Sting, World Wide Live, and Savage Amusement which are set to be released November 6, 2015. These deluxe releases include “dozens of unreleased songs, alternate versions of big hits, rough mixes, and rare live concert recordings”.

So basically, I will be dropping more than a couple of bucks on the latest 8 albums, as well as seeing the new film they have coming soon, speaking of which make sure to check this out.

If you are seeing this and still have dates where the Scorpions will be in your neck of the woods, please just do yourself the favor, lay down some cash, set some aside for a tour shirt cause they were all great. *SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!*  Really, it’s been a long time since any band was able to take me back to when I was younger.  Even bands that are still touring that came out when I was in high school haven’t come close to it, all while keeping a relevant, high energy stage show that shows they care about the performance they give us.  Have a look at the pictures above and the rest in the gallery
