What started out as a lite hearted joke over a decade ago in Minneapolis has exploded into a well produced theatrical production that immerses the audience in a time warp; for 40 somethings it provides a chance to hearken back to days gone by, when there was no internet and MTV actually played music videos; for a new generation it presents the opportunity to not only see and hear, but actually experience the era and spectacle of arena rock that their parents lived through.
“Hairball” delivers the ultimate homage to many of the most well known arena acts to ever take the stage. They present an incredibly accurate and detailed theatrical re-creation of the greatest hard-rock acts from the 70s and ’80s, such as KISS, Motley Crue, Queen, Journey, Aerosmith, Whitesnake, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, AC/DC and Van Halen, just to name a few.
“Hairball” is celebrating its 15th year of bringing the arena rock experience to a new generation. The band is constantly evolving the production to include more acts, more pyrotechnics, more lights, more sound, more theatrics, more everything!
A typical Hairball show illustrates the band’s commitment to their art, by including a constant stream of costume and set changes during each performance. The band just doesn’t look and sound like the arena rock legends, they literally become them on stage right before your eyes. It’s even been said that Alice Cooper once stated that they might even better than the real him.
The band has been selling out venues and events nationwide for over a decade and no matter if you are 14 or 40, this is an experience you really don’t want to miss.

As a teenager, Ron packed his bags and moved to Nashville to follow a dream; eventually moving to Hollywood and into the 80’s LA music scene to form the band “Steeler”, after releases one album and losing several band members to other projects, Ron formed the band “Keel” which ultimately went on to international fame throughout the 80’s selling 2 million albums. In late 2000, Ron found himself settling into a small Ohio village just outside of Columbus where he brought together a mix of metal, country and southern rock with the band “IronHorse”. In 2006 he packed his bags again and headed off to Las Vegas where he co-creator and produce the “Country Superstars” show at Bally’s. By 2014 Ron; after reaching out to several friends in the industry to work with him; released his latest solo album “Metal Cowboy”.
Today Ron finds himself surrounded by talented friends yet again, this time in the Badlands of South Dakota. As part of $15 million venture that will become one of the state’s largest tourist destinations. this venture promises to include the largest pawn shop in the Midwest, a 24-Hour Live FM radio station, “Badlands Radio Network”, an in-house mint that makes Badland-branded gold and silver coins and bars, a gun shop with state-of-the-art shooting range and 14 lanes, tattoo parlor and much, much more. In additional to all this, Ron will also be fronting the “Badlands House Band” which will perform at the site in addition to select tour dates around the US.
The “Badlands House Band” is the latest culmination of the life long musical journey that is Ron Keel. The tour features a powerful set list that drives on the deep American values we all hold so dear to our hearts, including but not limited to hits like “Ghost Riders in the Sky,” “Flirtin’ With Disaster,” and “American Pie,” as well as a touch of favorite “Keel” and “IronHorse” classics from the past and present.
