On a rainy Tuesday night in Ohio, with spring pushing it’s way in, kids of all ages lined up around the block to have a little sunshine in their night. Las Angeles based Dreamers had come to town. If you’ve never heard them and you’re a little older like me, I was reminded of a more upbeat and polished Weezer. Some people say they “don’t get music nowadays” and as I looked around at all of the young fans screaming for Dreamers, talking about which songs they really wanted to hear and which member they thought was cutest I realized nothing has changed. Music still takes you away to a place where you can be something entirely different, forget your troubles and fall in love all over again. You only have to allow it into your heart, and give your brain the night off. Dreamers could could be the next band to take us there.
Dreamers had a fantastic, high energy set, and though they were direct support for The Griswolds and followed Columbus’s own Kid Runner, you would have thought everyone was there for them. Make it a point to give them a listen and check out the video I’ll share below for their hit Sweet Disaster, If you can sit back and say you don’t feel this band, I’ll give you a dollar for your trouble.. Or I’ll just call you an asshole, I’ll let you figure out which is more likely 🙂
We are impractical.
We do not listen to those that doubt us.
We push the boundaries.
We believe that nothing is impossible.
We rewrite the rules.
We are boundless.
We are enchanted.
We are asleep to the waking world.
We are DREAMERS.
