Oh, the 90s. It was a magical time, when MTV still played music, boy bands were all the rage, and platform sandals and spaghetti straps were the fashion of the day. (Does anyone remember the awful frosted tips fad? I think someone forgot to tell Guy Fieri that it isn’t a thing anymore.) Speaking of MTV, Celebrity Deathmatch, the hyperviolent claymation show about celebrities of the day duking it out, is back on MTV2 with a new pilot in the works! It even had a video game, complete with an Anna Nicole Smith who could shoot high velocity milk from her breasts.
According to The Hollywood Reporter:
The new version will again feature animated no-holds-barred fantasy fights between infamous figures from entertainment and pop culture and will be reimagined for a social media world and hourly Twitter wars.
Original creator Eric Fogel is returning to the show, so the content should be a gold mine considering the introduction of Twitter Wars and how popular culture has evolved in the last 13 years. In the age of Robot Chicken I can only see this as a positive step forward for this Sick Sad World.
