I almost feel like in my line of work, Halloween is my New Years Day. The end of October is the pinnacle of my concert/show season and with that being said, sometimes I get a little buried in my work. I should have had this article out two weeks ago, but alas….shit happens 🙂
I fell in love with Dead Horse Trauma the second I saw them on stage, playing a surprise add on spot during the Art Of Dying show at the Alrosa Villa. This show honestly had a horrible turn out and as we all know, people tend to dawdle coming to a show if they don’t know the opening bands and even by the end I would have called the crowd mediocre at best. So it’s not hard to imagine the lack of people standing in front of Dead Horse Trauma as they took the stage, and to some bands that may have given them rights to fool around, and not take their part seriously. Not this band, Not at all. Eric and the boys in DHT played to their audience as if they were the headliner at a major festival, screaming and striking poses, interacting with the crowd and thumping out their tunes like proper beasts.
I nearly missed the show as I was coming back from my interview with Jonny from Art Of Dying, but I managed to haul just enough ass to get you all some shots of the band on stage and once they were off, I asked them if they had time to chat. They accepted and what you see below is a result. Be sure to catch these guys any time they are in town and pick up their latest album Kill The Precedence.
